Been practicing on demo for a few months. Made some progress but I am unsure if I am ready to switch to live trading.
How long did you practice before going to real money? I want to avoid jumping in too early and losing.

Emotional control plays a key role when switching to real trading. After two months of demo trading, starting with $25 was a misstep. Lost half the account quickly due to revenge trading after some losses.
It’s better to stay on demo until consistent profitability is achieved and solid rules for position sizing and daily loss limits are established.
I practiced for 4 months on demo before switching to real trades.
Demo profits are meaningless without proper risk management. Track your win rate over 100+ trades. Go live only when achieving 60%+ consistency while sticking to stop losses.
Three months minimum on demo, but it really depends on consistency. If you’re profitable for 30+ straight days without big drawdowns, then try going live with tiny amounts.
Time isn’t the real test - it’s sticking to your strategy when emotions hit. Demo removes all the psychological pressure from real money. When you switch, start with the smallest position size possible and slowly increase as you prove yourself with actual cash.
Spent 6 months on demo after crypto burned me - learned patience the hard way.
First live trade was still terrifying. Put $10 on a put option with shaking hands. Lost it in minutes because I panicked and closed early.
Demo doesn’t prepare you for that emotional hit.
