Been tracking different assets over the past few weeks and noticed some patterns in volume.
EUR/USD and GBP/USD seem to move the most during London session. Bitcoin usually gets crazy around US market open.
Anyone else seeing similar activity? Want to make sure I’m not missing something obvious here.
Volume peaks match your observations. EUR/USD hits highest activity 8-12 GMT. BTC spikes at NYSE open due to institutional flow. Gold shows strong movement during London overlap. Track these windows for better entry timing.
Bitcoin burned me hard when I ignored the NY open spike last month. Lost 65% on a position because I entered right before the volatility hit.
Now I wait for that 2:30 PM spike to settle before jumping in. EUR/USD during London session is my sweet spot though - caught three winning trades there this week.
Those London session moves on EUR pairs are solid but watch out for fake breakouts around lunch time when volume drops.
Crypto gets wild during US hours because that’s when the big money moves. Weekend crypto action is totally different though - way less predictable.
Oil futures also spike during those overlap periods if you’re looking for more options to track.
Gold pairs also jump during those overlap hours around 1-3 PM EST.
