do you guys use martingale or is it too risky

I’ve been considering using the martingale strategy, but I’m hesitant about the risks. It seems tempting when you’re in a losing streak.

What’s your take on it? Have you tried it before? I’m curious about your experiences and if you think it’s worth the potential downsides.

Martingale burned me hard in my early days. Blew through $5K in a week trying to chase losses on USD/JPY.

Now I stick to 1% risk per trade, max. It’s slower, but I sleep better.

Last month, I had a string of 7 losses. Old me would’ve doubled down. Instead, I took a break, reviewed my charts, and came back stronger.

Martingale strategy:

• High risk of account blowup
• Exponential loss potential
• Not sustainable long-term

Focus on:

• Consistent position sizing
• Stop losses
• Backtested strategies

Martingale’s a quick way to blow your account. Been there, done that. Lost 30% in three days before I smartened up. Now I focus on consistent 1-2% risk per trade, no exceptions. It’s not as exciting, but my account keeps growing.

Better approach: improve your entry criteria, learn to read price action, and practice proper risk management. These skills pay off long-term. If you’re on a losing streak, step back and review your strategy instead of doubling down.

Remember, trading’s a marathon, not a sprint. Slow and steady wins this race.

Tried martingale last year. Lost 40% of my account in 2 weeks. Stick to solid risk management instead.

Martingale’s been tempting during rough patches, but it’s a slippery slope. Tried it a few times and nearly blew my account.

The risk grows exponentially with each trade. Now, I focus on improving my strategy and risk management instead.

For most traders, especially part-timers like us, it’s probably best avoided.
