Discussing different types of traders and strategies

Been trading for a while now and noticed there are so many different approaches people use. Some folks go for quick scalping trades while others hold positions longer.

What type of trader are you? I’m trying to decide whether to stick with my current strategy or try something different.

Seems like everyone has their own way of doing things.

Swing trading’s my go-to. I hold for 3-7 days - gives trades room to breathe without me glued to charts all day. Used to scalp years ago but it was too stressful and killed my profits.

Match your strategy to how you actually live and think. Can’t sit at screens for hours? Don’t scalp. Get antsy holding overnight? Skip swing trading. Demo different timeframes first before you mess with real money.

Position trading works well. I hold for 2-4 weeks. Cuts out noise, saves on fees, and eases risk management. Markets trend longer than expected.

I do quick trades for 5-15 minutes at market open, then hold longer overnight.

Started scalping thinking fast trades equal fast money. Lost $800 in two weeks.

Now I hold positions for weeks. Best trade this year was gold. I held it for 12 days and made 340% profit.

It took three different strategies before I found what works for me.

Quick trades work way better when you’ve got a day job. Most positions can be done in 15 to 30 minutes during lunch or after work.

It’s important to match your trading style with your available time. Holding overnight positions stressed me out because I would check my phone frequently.

Switching to mobile trading really helped. Shorter timeframes make sense when you’re busy with work.
