can you actually buy options after hours?

I have been thinking about this lately. My day job makes it hard to trade during market hours. I usually try to trade in the evenings.

I found mixed information online about after hours options trading. Some say it’s possible, but others warn against it due to low volume.

Does anyone here trade options after hours? What has your experience been like?

Most brokers let you trade options after hours, but spreads blow up and volume dies. You’ll pay more and get terrible fills compared to regular hours.

I’ve done it when I had to close positions, but opening new trades after hours is usually not a good idea. Risk-reward isn’t favorable when there’s no liquidity.

Better move: place orders during market hours and use good-til-canceled orders that work while you’re at your day job. You’ll get decent fills without dealing with after hours issues.

Stick to swing trades or longer timeframes if you can’t watch markets during regular hours. Day trading after hours can cause problems.

I trade on Pocket Option all day. No limits on after hours here.

Regular options markets close at 4 PM EST. Binary options platforms operate 24/7. Volume decreases after 4 PM in traditional markets, but binary options continue executing trades steadily.

Same here - day job makes regular market hours tough for trading.

Options get messy after 4 PM. Liquidity tanks, spreads blow out, and you’re lucky to get decent fills.

Binaries keep going though. Just gotta pick assets that stay active evenings. Forex pairs usually outlast stocks.

I switched to longer timeframes when I can’t babysit charts. Way less stress than chasing quick moves with crap liquidity.

Traditional options after 4 PM burned me hard early on. Got stuck in a position with massive spreads and couldn’t exit without losing big.

Binary options don’t have that problem since they’re fixed payouts. I trade EUR/JPY after work around 7 PM and still catch decent moves.

Learned to avoid illiquid hours the expensive way.
