Can someone trade options after hours successfully?

Been thinking about after hours trading lately. My job keeps me busy during the day so I want to trade in the evenings.

Is anyone making consistent profits with after hours trading? I noticed the volume is low and spreads are wider than usual.

Tried a few small trades last week but they didn’t go well. Maybe I’m missing something with the timing or strategy.

Volume drops 80% after 4PM EST. Focus on major forex pairs during Sydney/Tokyo sessions. Avoid equity options completely - liquidity vanishes.

Currency pairs work during overlap hours, but timing’s everything. That 2-3 hour window when London closes and Asia opens usually gives decent movement.

Stick with majors like EUR/USD or GBP/USD then. Everything else gets choppy with low volume.

Equity options after market close? Pure gambling. No real price discovery happening.

After hours trading works, but you need different currency pairs. Made $180 last month trading GBP/JPY around 10PM.

Your schedule’s perfect for trading. Asian markets are active from 6PM to 3AM EST with good volume and tight spreads on major pairs. Avoid equities after 4PM since they lack activity. Set breakout alerts for Tokyo’s open instead of forcing trades. Be patient and wait for genuine volatility rather than trying to force trades in flat markets.

Lower volume destroyed me when I started night trading two years ago. Got stuck in EUR/USD for 30 minutes watching it go nowhere.

Now I stick to currency pairs during Asian overlap. I wait for real movement instead of forcing trades.

Blew $340 on Apple options at 9 PM once - complete dead zone.
