anyone else cant control emotions when trading?

I’ve been trading for a while now, but I still struggle with keeping my emotions in check. It’s frustrating how quickly I can go from feeling confident to panicking.

Does anyone else deal with this? How do you manage your emotions during trades, especially when things aren’t going your way?

Been there. Lost $500 in a day from emotional trading. Now I use a strict risk management system. 2% max per trade keeps losses small.

Trade small sizes. Set stop loss and take profit before entering. Use alerts instead of watching charts constantly. Focus on overall performance, not individual trades. Practice emotional discipline consistently.

Emotions are part of trading, but they shouldn’t control you. I’ve learned to treat each trade like a business decision. Set your stop loss and take profit before entering a trade. This way, you’re not making choices in the heat of the moment.

Another trick is to trade smaller sizes. It’s easier to stay calm when each trade isn’t make-or-break for your account. Also, don’t watch your trades constantly. Set alerts and walk away. Staring at charts all day is a sure way to let emotions take over.

Remember, one trade doesn’t define you as a trader. Focus on your overall performance, not individual wins or losses. It takes time, but with practice, you’ll get better at managing your emotions.

Emotions can definitely mess with your trading. Been through that rollercoaster too.

One thing that’s helped is setting clear entry and exit points before opening a trade. Sticking to those regardless of how I feel in the moment.

Also, taking regular breaks helps clear my head. Sometimes stepping away from the charts for a bit gives better perspective.

Emotions were my biggest enemy when I started. Lost a chunk of my account on impulsive FOMO trades.

Now I use a trading journal to track my mental state. Last month, it helped me spot a pattern of overtrading when stressed.

Still working on it, but having a system helps me stay more level-headed during volatile market days.
